10 plants are on forced outage on August 2026, 1 plant since July, 3 plants since June, 7 plants since May, 1 plant since March, 3 plants since 2025, 2 plants since 2024, 2 plants since 2023, and 1 plant since 2021, while 16 plants are running on derated capacities, for a total of 979.6MW unavailable to the grid.
Factor/s that contributed to the RED and YELLOW Alert declarations:
1. Unavailability of Visayas' large coal plants TVI 1, TVI 2 and KSPC 1
2. Limited power import from Mindanao
A red alert status is issued when power supply is insufficient to meet consumer demand and the transmission grid’s regulating requirement.
A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid’s contingency requirement.

August 26, 2026 – ILECO I successfully conducted the COOP CARES: Feeding Program and Handog Gamit Pang-Eskwela at Sinamay Elementary School, Brgy. Sinamay, Alimodian, benefiting 165 learners through the distribution of essential school supplies and a feeding activity under the Cooperative’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program.
The initiative aimed to support the educational and nutritional needs of young learners while promoting the Cooperative’s commitment to community development and inclusive service. Through this activity, ILECO I provided students with essential school supplies and nutritious meals to help support them throughout the ongoing school year.
The COOP CARES Program reflects ILECO I’s continuing dedication to creating meaningful and lasting impact beyond electrification by investing in the welfare, education, and future of the communities it serves.
Through initiatives like this, ILECO I continues to uphold its commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of its Member-Consumer-Owners and the communities it serves.
