As we celebrate our 55th Foundation Anniversary, we proudly look back on one of the milestones that shaped our journey toward becoming a stronger and more resilient electric cooperative.

In 1980, the operationalization of the National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) transmission line marked a turning point in our history. This significant development enabled us to terminate our power supply contract with PECO and operate our first-ever 5 MVA Substation at our Tigbauan Main Office. What was once a bold investment in our future became the foundation of a power system that continues to serve and empower communities today.

From that single 5 MVA substation, we have grown into a modern electric distribution utility operating ten strategically located substations across our franchise area. These facilities now provide the capacity and reliability needed to support the increasing demands of homes, businesses, institutions, industries, and communities throughout the municipalities we proudly serve.

Today, our substations are equipped with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) technology, enabling us to monitor and control critical power system operations in real time. Through this innovation, we can detect faults faster, respond to outages more efficiently, improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and deliver safer and more dependable electric service to our Member-Consumer-Owners.

What began as a single substation serving a growing dream has evolved into a robust, technology-driven network powering progress across Western Iloilo. Every substation we built, every system we upgraded, and every innovation we embraced reflects our unwavering commitment to providing reliable, responsive, and future-ready electric service.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we honor the visionary leaders, dedicated employees, valued partners, and Member-Consumer-Owners whose trust and support have made our growth possible.

As ILECO I celebrates its 55th Foundation Anniversary, we proudly look back on another significant milestone in our continuing commitment to accessible, responsive, and member-centered service—the opening of the San Miguel Sub-Office on September 6, 1980. Established to serve the municipalities of San Miguel, Leon, and Alimodian, the sub-office marked a major step in bringing cooperative services closer to the communities we serve, making transactions more convenient and strengthening our connection with our Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs).

Guided by the vision of service excellence, ILECO I has continuously expanded and improved its operations to meet the growing needs of its MCOs. What began as a single service center has evolved into a network of 15 strategically located offices across the ILECO I coverage area: San Joaquin, Miagao, Guimbal, Igbaras, Tubungan, Tigbauan, Oton, Leon, San Miguel, Cabatuan, Sta. Barbara, Maasin, Leganes, Pavia Plazuela, and Robinsons Place Pavia. This expansion reflects our unwavering dedication to ensuring that quality service, assistance, and support remain within reach of every MCO.

For 55 years, ILECO I has gone beyond energizing homes and businesses—it has built stronger communities, fostered progress, and empowered generations through reliable and accessible electric service. The opening of each office stands as a testament to our enduring mission of innovation, growth, and service excellence, reminding us that every milestone achieved is rooted in our commitment to serve the people throughout the ILECO I Coverage Area.

On June 10, 2026, we honor the visionaries who laid the foundation of our cooperative, celebrate the milestones that define our journey, and reaffirm our pledge to provide exceptional service for generations to come.
