10 plants are on forced outage on June 2026, 9 plants are on forced outage since May 2026, 1 plant since March 2026, 3 plants since 2025, 2 plants since 2024, 2 plants since 2023, and 1 plant since 2021, while 11 plants are running on derated capacities, for a total of 996.4MW unavailable to the grid.
Factor/s that contributed to the YELLOW Alert declaration:
1. Unavailability of Visayas' large coal plants TVI 1, TVI 2, PEDC 3, and KSPC 2.
2. High system demand forecast
A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid’s contingency requirement.

As ILECO I celebrates its 55th Foundation Anniversary, we proudly honor a milestone that brought electricity closer to even the most remote communities—the creation of the Barangay Power Associations (BAPAs) in December 1985.
Established under the rural electrification program of the National Electrification Administration (NEA), BAPAs became a vital partner of ILECO I in delivering electricity to far-flung barangays across its franchise area. Beginning with the pioneering associations in Brgy. Tiolas, San Joaquin and Brgy. Bongol San Miguel, Guimbal, the program expanded over the years, leading to the establishment of more than 460 Barangay Power Associations that helped extend the benefits of electrification to underserved communities.
More than a distribution mechanism, BAPAs embodied the spirit of community participation and shared responsibility. Through collective management of electricity services, local residents took an active role in meter reading, bill collection, line maintenance, and safeguarding their power systems. This partnership strengthened accountability, reduced operational challenges, and accelerated the electrification of rural areas throughout ILECO I coverage areas.
The success of the BAPA program stands as a testament to ILECO I's commitment to inclusive development—ensuring that no community is left behind in the pursuit of progress. Through cooperation, innovation, and community ownership, ILECO I and its member-consumer-owners transformed the dream of rural electrification into a reality for thousands of households.
As we commemorate 55 years of dedicated service, we celebrate the communities, leaders, and partners who helped build a brighter future for generations of Ilonggos.

Aside from the unavailability of Visayas' large coal plants TVI 1, TVI 2, PEDC 3, and KSPC 2, the decrease of available generation capacity is due to the additional forced outage of CPPC U6-U7, CPPC U8-U10, CENPRI U2, BDPP U4, PDPP1 U5, PDPP3 H, and PB101 U3.
Schedule may be cancelled if system condition improves, such as if actual demand falls below projections.
